What's the Story?

ZENSHU follows the story of Natsuko Hirose (voiced by Madeleine Morris), a perfectionist anime writer and director who's overworked and burnt out. She works on her latest hit, called "First Love," and has severe writer's block and a fast approaching deadline. When she hurriedly scarfs down her lunch, she chokes on a piece of clam. As she blacks out, she is transported to the world of her favorite anime, called "A Tale of Perishing" and meets Luke Braveheart (voiced by Ryan Negron) and his crew. Natsuko self-reflects and learns about love and the creative process along the way.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say ( 1 ):
Kids say ( 1 ):

This anime is lighthearted and funny while simultaneously reaching some emotional depths. Zenshu portrays an accurate depiction of burnout, perfectionism, and stress, as well as the consequences of those issues, while maintaining a cheerful and comic tone. The story is easy to follow, and viewers will find themselves being invested in the main characters and their welfare somewhat quickly.
