Caretakers who grew up watching Nick's Golden Age shows may feel a wave of nostalgia with this series. Zokie of Planet Ruby has all the classic quirks of a Nicktoon: unique character designs, an unusual premise, and niche jokes that make you wonder about its target audience. Yet, despite the quirky exterior, it tells stories that are surprisingly relatable and universal.

As Ruby and Zokie navigate life on Earth, viewers are invited to think about real life versus the online world, what it means to be a good friend and other tactics of communication building. While the overall packaging may not appeal to everyone, the show offers a rewarding experience for those willing to dig a little deeper.
