IXL

This program is very rigged and horrible not even my opinion alot of people agree the same way I do teachers assign you ixl work that when u get a question wrong I tried to read through the question and how I got it wrong which it never helped me understand how it was done. Annoying part is it loweres your smartscore by alot by alot I mean dropped down. I do not recommend kids or parents to even use this uncouraging site. Shame.

A good idea, executed terribly. So, I often have to use IXL for school. Teachers assign it as homework, and honestly it can be very frustrating. I know, you may discredit me because I am a teen and maybe I am just a slacker, but let me explain. IXL is often used in my school to determine where you are at on an academic level in the classroom, making use of it's diagnostic feature. Except the diagnostic is about as useful as a BuzzFeed personality quiz. But on to the frustrating parts. IXL gives you a "smart score" when doing lessons. Teachers often assign a specific smart score for you to reach, ex. 85. IXL "challenges" you by dropping your smart score increasingly more the higher you are when you answer incorrectly. Except the only thing it really challenges is your will to live. I've spent hours and hours working on single IXLs only to have 5 more to do. Please, for the love of god don't use this in your classrooms.

This site is absolutely horrible, I spend hours on end trying to complete some of these "challenges" and it has no effect on my actual work in class. I normally take around 10-20 mins on one challenge and it doesn't even make a dent in my understanding of the subject. I can not express how much time this site has taken from me for no reason. One time in grade 6 I was working on one for 2 hours straight and I was at around 96-99 % and got one question wrong, it took me down to I think the low 80s, and to get back up, every question only gave me 1 point. So, if you are a parent and you are reading this, just please... don't let your child suffer through all of the pain.

I personally think that this website is terrible and I know kids who have punched their computer over this. I get extremely stressed when I use ixl because it is rigged and feels impossible. the explanations are way too complex and they don't help at all. I hope that this review will help a few kids stay off this terrible torture device. And it can take hours to complete one skill and it doesn't update the arena at all don't use it!

This App is Horribe for students, especially those in Middle and High School. We Already have enough to deal with, school is stressful enough already. The App has a great idea it was just executed horribly. Sometimes certian skills are super hard to complete because if you get one question wrong you have to do 10 more to make up for your one mistake. The explanations provided don't even help! Schools need to find a better way for kids to learn, I would much rather do 20 questions from a textbook than go though this.

I've had to stay up till 5:45 IN THE MORNING because of this INFURIATING STUDENT TORTURE! Every SINGLE time I have to take 5 hours on it!!! The scores ain't fair at ALL?!?! I haven't gotten sleep because of this website since 2020?!?!?

This is a TERRIBLE app! would give a negative number rating if I could. Don't even bother with this app it causes stress and will make you feel MISERABLE! if you're a teacher looking at this PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD AND ALL THAT IS GOOD DON'T MAKE YOUR STUDENTS USE THIS!!! It is not a good idea to use, and this and the so called "smart score" is absolute TRASH and making you feel stupid if you get even one wrong just goes right back down and to add to all that stress they thought it would be a good idea to add A FREAKING TIMER! don't buy this your wasting your money and time buy using IXL. just move on. (ps does NOT make learning fun and there slogan "I excel in everything I do" trust me it WILL NOT feel that way when you use IXL) 👎👎👎👎

IXL is probably one of the worst things I have ever come across as a student. In homework and in classroom this app causes extreme anxiety and even some symptoms of depression. And I know I'm not the only one. I have asked my peers at school about it and they have all said the same exact thing. The only thing this app does for kids is give them more stress than they already have when navigating through growing up. And yes, I know all of the adds are like "Fun learning for kids!". "You can see your students progress!". Yeah well the only progress that I'm getting is tears. They literally had to get me a new Chromebook from the students office from all the water they had been on the keys. They asked where it came from. and I said that it was from IXL. So if you ever see your kid crying over homework, there is a 99% chance that they are crying over IXL. A little bit of advice, don't hurt yourself or your kids in buying this app. Absolutely horrible!
