Outed to my family

I created an account on this website just to warn people about Trevor space. Back in high school, I was in an abusive relationship with a girl I was dating. My parents did not know about this relationship or that I even was attracted to women. I survived this relationship and shared my experience of being a survivor on the website. Trevor space surprised me, the day after Christmas, nine years ago, by sending social services to my house. They tried incriminating my parents for the abuse my ex put me through while OUTING me to my family. The emotional trauma I faced from this website as a member of the LGBTQ community is 100 times worse than the abuse I went through. I have seen therapists and psychiatrists and have symptoms of PTSD from that experience. I’m sharing my story so no other LGBTQ youth goes through what I went through.

The best site!

I'm 18 (a senior in high school) and I've been using this site and it's forums for a good few years. My school has recently blocked the site from school computers because of "Content: Alternative Sexual Lifestyles" which breaks my heart a little bit. This site helps so many people and regulates what is posted. They report serious notes of abuse/suicide etc. sent in by teens/children/adults which may be incorrect from time to time, but ultimately may save lives. Most of the conversation is helpful, friendly, and not too intense though. I like it. A+

Great.

TrevorSpace is awesome! Its great for anyone who needs someone to talk to. When I was feeling lonely, there were tons of people to laugh with, talk with, and discuss with from all over the US. Everyone is so kind to each other, and in the rare chance that someone says something offensive, there are constant moderators there. CSM says there are spots to discuss sexual things, but hardly anyone actually talks about it. Its just positive messages. All TrevorSpace is is a place for teens to comfort other teens and to make new friends. And parents don't have to worry about predators or whatever, because when you sign up TrevorSpace REQUIRES you to post a verification photo with your face and a handwritten unique code.

I can't even make an account

This is literally so irritating, Ive been trying to set up my account for the past half hour and it doesn't let me create my own username and I can't even get past step 3 of the verification process, what's the point of having this website if people can't use it

Wonderful

This website is wonderful. It gave me a place to turn to when I had no one else. The community on Trevor Space is safe and loving, and we all support one another. I recommend it for any LGBT+ youth, struggling or not.

Great site for anyone in need of an ear to listen to them

As a user of the site for a couple years now, I'm well aware of both upsides and downsides to the site. But all in all, it serves it's main purpose well and that's giving youths, especially teens with no one in-person they can talk to, a place to go where they can get advice from others without judgement. It was created to help give suicidal, depressed, and/or bullied kids a support network so they know they're not alone in this world, even when things seem bad. The users support each other, share experiences, and send positivity to each other who are down. The site is a safe place where (most) users respect each others beliefs and differences. It's also a nice place to make friends who are going through similar situations or who share interests with each other. Since the main job of the admins is keeping users safe and the site clean, there's a few rules in place to help achieve that. The admins monitor the site almost daily to deal with any inappropriate content, answer questions, and make sure the site isnt deteriorating into chaos. Some users tend to help out with this to make the admin's job easier and spread around information for new users to learn how to use the site sooner. The site is run by the Trevor Project and they really do care about their users. When alerted to someone who may be in danger of committing suicide, in abusive situations, or a minor becoming homeless, they will do what they can to make sure that kid gets help. They dont want users getting hurt. On an end-note, I do want to address that "Awful" review. As someone who was present for the multiple situations caused by that user, I can say for a fact she was never bullied. She was the one who was harassing and flipping out on other users cus she took a difference in opinions as a personal attack. Anyone who tried to reason with her was met with the same hostility. The admins actually banned her multiple times, eventually letting her back for a another chance, then banned her again for causing more chaos. They really had no choice but to boot her due to her unsavory behavior. So please, nobody use that review as an accurate representation of the going ons of that site. The admins are very fair when it comes to dealing with the users causing problems, they also examine the entire situation and everyone involved so they can make an unbiased decision. Users have to do something pretty big to get banned, usually they just give warnings or temporary suspension, and anyone with an IP address ban usually has that lifted after some time. Also, it's rare for something like this to happen on the site. As previously state, most users are very respectful of each other. Something like this only happens once, maybe twice a year. So really, it's a great site for anyone under 25 who wants to connect with more LGBTQ+ folks and allies, give/get advice, and just get random discussions going for fun.

Saved me in my teens

I remember using this site when I had no one to turn to when I was a teen. I was able to vent about my frustrations and make friends! This place never made me feel alone.
