What's It About?

DAN RHODES describes himself as "just a kid and a dream." And that's a pretty apt way of describing his channel. More than anything, Dan Rhodes' videos are more like vlogs than professional David Blaine-like stunts, which makes the channel more relatable, Viewers see him attempt magic tricks and illusions (including some instructional videos), visit new places and meet new people on his travels, and generally chronicle his rise to YouTube stardom. The channel leans more heavily into YouTube shorts than full length videos, which is likely more appealing for tweens and teens who love TikTok.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say ( 1 ):
Kids say ( 1 ):

Dan Rhodes asks viewers to join him on his magical journey as he performs magic tricks and illusions, building a YouTube fan base along the way. Though the channels popularity grew from it's full length videos, it now relies more on Shorts, which is most likely due to the rise in popularity of the TikTok video format. YouTube has no shortage of fantastical content and poor role models for kids, but Dan Rhodes is an exception. He doesn't rely on shock value, problematic challenges, or ridiculous video thumbnails. Instead, he's just himself, unapologetically. In a world of online cynicism, he bears little of it. And his channel certainly isn't one adults need to worry much about. If anything, young viewers might just develop an interest in magic.
