The parents' guide to what's in this app.

Ease of Play

This game uses intuitive racing controls that should be easy for most players to pick up and play. Some of the tournament competitions against computer opponents can be intimidating, but there is a practice mode to allow players to perfect their racing strategy on the course. Additionally, players can alter the level of opponent difficulty, and there are multiple tutorials to help players get a better grasp on how to maneuver through tight turns, avoid spinning out, etc.

Violence & Scariness

While there is no overt violence, there is a weighty feeling to the main menu screen, which highlights a large skull-and-crossbones. When players crash or take a spill, they merely get back on the track a few seconds later.

Sexy Stuff

There is a loading screen image that depicts a card girl in a tight-fitting top that exposes her cleavage.

What parents need to know

Parents need to know that 2XL Supercross HD is a motocross racing game. Players can choose from among several different bikes and then strive to maneuver through the rough, dirt-packed terrain faster than anyone else. The game contains no overt violent content; when players crash or take a spill, they merely get back on the track a few seconds later. There is something of a rough aesthetic, however, with a large skull-and-crossbones graphic presented in the main menu, and loud music playing in the background. Nevertheless, this game is designed to be accessible for all players.

Is it any good?

The best part of 2XL SUPERCROSS HD is its visual presentation. The detailed courses look great, and there is no loss to the fidelity of graphics even during the high-speed races. It enhances the vicarious thrill of driving through the intense motocross courses. However, the graphics are only one component of a game, and unfortunately this title suffers in other areas, such as a lack of gameplay variety and replayability. Players looking for an engaging game with challenging single-player options or a wide selection of courses may be disappointed here, but as a standalone, basic racing game it excels.
