What’s It About?
Start B&B APPLE JAM - KIDS GAME by piecing together a watering can. Then, follow the game sequence to water an apple tree, pick the apples, take them to a friend's house to cook them, and finally fill and label jars with a variety of freshly made fruit jam. Additional related mini-games along the way -- like repairing the broken wheelbarrow full of apples -- round out the app and add some excitement. Once the jars of jam are shelved, the game is over and kids can start the whole process again.
Is It Any Good?
Kids get a good look at the process of making jam with mini-games that are simple and accessible, though not particularly innovative. The tasks in B&B Apple Jam - Kids Game are cute, fun, and easy to do. They're also nicely tied together in a sequence that makes sense: Each game is a necessary step along the way toward the goal of making jars of jam. And though toddlers should find the games engaging -- at least for a little while -- the games don't require much thinking or creativity to complete. Parents can make the experience richer by playing with their kids. There are ample opportunities for expanding on the games through discussion and offscreen jam-making and -tasting exploration.
