Bloons

Physics and strategy combine in fun puzzle game.

What parents need to know

Ease of play

The puzzles can be incredibly difficult to pull off within a limited number of dart throws, but an "unlimited darts" option makes the game a whole lot easier and fun for casual play.

Parents Need to Know

Parents need to know that BLOONS is a fun, if rather challenging puzzle game. The difficulty level can be reduced drastically, though, by choosing the "infinite darts" option. Doing so won't guarantee that you win every level, but it will make the game much more child-friendly. Content-wise, there's nothing to worry about here. Our review is based on the iPhone app; the Android app may have some differences in functionality.

QUALITY

Bloons is all about a monkey throwing darts at balloons. It's a cute and simple concept that is well executed, with realistic physics that determine the aerodynamic projection of the darts. The game's many obstacles make it challenging as you will have to hurl your darts around, over, and beyond. You may have to bounce your dart off of a rubber wall or avoid an ice crystal that will freeze nearby balloons. There are loads of levels for long-lasting play, making this addictive game a super bargain.
