What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Chicken Math is an education game that helps build addition skills. A yellow hen lays eggs with numbers on them, while a fox sits at the end of a long, curving tube, thinking of a number. The player must then pick the eggs that add up to the fox's number until they have saved a certain number of eggs or until the fox eats an egg from the tube. The game has a wide variety of modes that make it a good way for both
children and adults to keep their minds sharp, with the ability to mix
and match speeds, the difficulty of the addition problems, the number of
eggs you must save, and the length of the map.

Is It Any Good?
Chicken Math is based around a pretty simple concept, but that simplicity is a big part of what makes the game work well -- and on so many levels. Children who are just learning to count can learn to do so in a fun, non-stressful way, but parents who want to put their own math skills to the test can ramp up the difficulty enough to keep them on their toes. The onscreen animation is very rudimentary, but the gameplay makes it easy to look beyond that. And the fact that this is an educational game that doesn't feel like it's forcing you to learn makes it a good tool for parents looking to help their kids grasp the concept of complex addition.
