What’s It About?
To use CREATIVE WRITER - FUN! EASY! WRITE! - IDEAS FOR WRITING AND TEXTING - FLOW OF WORDS, POETRY AND LYRICS, first enable the app's keyboard on your phone. Choose it as your keyboard to use Creative Writer to write text messages (and communicate via social apps) or write within the app itself. Choose the desired vocabulary -- Classics, "You and Me," Song Lyrics, and more -- and begin choosing words. Tap on the word to see its meaning, synonyms, and more. Export what you've written by choosing share and which method you'd like to use to share your work. To change the font, background, and size of type, or to filter profanity, choose to use the "talking robot," and for more options, go to settings.
Is It Any Good?
With the in-app purchase features added, this app can be a fun and effective creative writing and vocabulary tool, but as a freebie, it's underwhelming. The free version of Creative Writer - Fun! Easy! Write! - Ideas for Writing and Texting - Flow of Words, Poetry and Lyrics is essentially a predictive text tool with some added words and meager options. With the paid features, it becomes a pretty terrific resource for word definitions, synonyms, related creative phrases, rhyming words, and more. The talking robot is just odd -- and a feature most users will likely want to skip. Also, since teens can take text from other sources and combine it into something new, parents will want to discuss plagiarism and using someone else's content fairly. Ultimately, perhaps the developer should just charge a premium price and provide all the features available via in-app purchase from the get-go. As it stands, if you download this app, be prepared to be underwhelmed -- or to pay for the essential features.
