Excellent ebook adaptation for the youngest readers.

What parents need to know

Educational value

Kids can read along; words are highlighted as they are spoken. In addition, kids can tap any image on the screen to hear and see its name. Plus, this is an ABC book to begin with, meaning it is inherently educational on a preschool level (Dr. Seuss doesn't use "real" words to illustrate each letter, instead he creates terms like "Fiffer-Feffer-Feff").

Ease of play

It's super easy to follow along, turn pages, and point out new words.

Parents Need to Know

Parents need to know that this ebook rendition of the classic whimisical alphabet book Dr. Seuss's ABC is very faithful to the original, and very well-designed to maximize ease of use for preschoolers. Of all the Seuss books, this is perhaps the one targeted at the youngest readers, so it may feel babyish to even a kindergartner.

Is it any good?

DR. SEUSS'S ABC is faithfully adapted in this ebook app, which is perfectly suited to preschoolers playing around with Mom or Dad's iphone. Kids can swipe and point with zero effort, enabling them to enjoy the app without any grown-up help. Each word is highlighted as it is read, making it easy to follow along. And the reading is performed by a great actress who gives her all to the nonsense syllables of Dr. Seuss.
