What’s It About?
Upon opening the app, kids see the fact for the day. Each fact is narrated and paired with a simple illustration. Tap the icon on the bottom to hear it repeated. Kids can go back to any previous facts but will have to wait until the next day to hear a new one. Kids can tap the star icon to add facts to their favorites and the heart icon to share facts via email and Facebook.
Is It Any Good?
FACTS FOR KIDS - A NEW FACT EVERY DAY is a fun way to discover something new. Like "word of the day" calendars or apps, kids get one fact each day, which is enough to get them thinking and still coming back for more the next day. The narration is nice and makes it possible for young kids to enjoy the facts, too. The facts cover a wide range of topics, so even if today's fact doesn't seem interesting, tomorrow's might. Who knew a sailfish can swim faster than a cheetah can run?
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Read the daily fact with your kids each day. Expand on the fact from your own knowledge and discuss the topic with your kids.
Encourage your kids to go pursue topics that interest them; take them to the library to follow up on some of the facts.
