GEOBEE CHALLENGE is a refreshingly world-centric (as opposed to U.S.-centric) quiz game with a broad range of questions that are rooted in geography with some politics and history. There are some seriously challenging questions here (sample: "Nigeria has extensive oil reserves in the Gulf of Guinea and in the delta of what major river?") meaning this is not an app for the young'uns. Not only that, but to achieve the maximum accuracy score you must click on the exact location of the area or landmark -- general vicinity won't cut it. That's fair enough, but the app sometimes comes across as a little too picky, like when it penalized us for clicking on the "wrong" part of Baffin Island, a large land mass in the Canadian arctic. Further confusing things, some of the locations are marked with red dots while others aren't, questions are sometimes cut off, and duplicate questions occur a little too frequently, sometimes in back-to-back quizzes. There's plenty to learn here, but be prepared for a barebones and somewhat glitchy presentation.
