What's It About?

GONOODLE - KIDS VIDEOS encourages kids to get up and get their bodies moving. Kids can browse through a large library of short videos ranging from about two to five minutes long. Follow the demonstrations to dance, jump up and down, spin around, regulate breathing, get into yoga poses, and more. Some videos are individual entries, some are part of a "channel," and some also have light educational content (for example, a song about syllables). English and Spanish videos are available.

Upbeat kid-friendly videos demonstrate lots of fun ways to get your whole body moving and get some exercise. There are lots of videos in GoNoodle - Kids Videos, and naturally some are better than others. But with a big variety of ways to move and characters to watch, most kids should find something that inspires them to get on their feet and burn some calories. And since it's available across platforms, it's super easy to access. Since most videos are dance-based, kids who aren't into dancing may have some trouble finding a video that inspires them to move. One nitpicky comment: Most of the music seems to fall into either the hip-hop or the electronica camp, and some variety might be nice. It would also be nice to see some additional features, such as the ability to save your favorite videos or combine a bunch to make a longer playlist. However, this free version does offer a lot of material. For kids who need some encouragement to get exercise or who want inspiration for learning to move in new ways, or for families who just want to have fun learning a dance routine together, GoNoodle - Kids Videos is a great option.

Talk to Your Kids About ...

  • Families can talk about how kids feel after moving around with GoNoodle - Kids Videos. How does their body feel after they get their heart rate up or once they calm their breathing? Why is it important to move your body a lot and in lots of different ways?

  • Watch the videos together and move with your kids! Make it a family dance party and have fun, laugh, and exercise together.

  • Encourage your kids to move in lots of ways that don't involve a screen. Get them running around outside, take them to playgrounds, or sign them up for a sports team (or dance, or gymnastics, or martial arts, etc.). Make sure they get at least one hour of physical activity every day.
