Popular Webkinz game allows kids to earn KinzCash on the go.
A Lot or a Little?
What you will—and won't—find in this app.
Ease of Play
The match-3 format of this game will be familiar to many players, but the game is a bit trickier on a smaller screen than a large one because of the size of the graphics. The game starts out on a low difficultly level and increases as you fill a progress meter.
Products & Purchases
This app is linked to the popular kids' virtual world Webkinz. Although you can play without a membership, it prompts you to log in at the end of each game to transfer your KinzCash (Webkinz in-game currency) winnings. Webkinz membership requires the purchase of a Webkinz stuffed animal.
Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Goober's Lab is adapted from a popular game in the Webkinz virtual world and allows users to win "KinzCash" that can be transferred to their Webkinz account for online purchase of virtual items. Users must already have a Webkinz account in order to use that feature (you need to have a Webkinz stuffed animal to get the account), but the app is otherwise functional without the additional account. The game is a standard match-3 game with very few frills or power-ups.

Is It Any Good?
GOOBER'S LAB is a simple game that asks you to match three or more "atoms" of the same color by swapping atoms that are side by side. A cartoon dog cheers you on with repetitive comments that are difficult to understand. It's a cute way to pass some time, or to earn KinzCash for Webkinz players, but the game doesn't have a lot of depth or variety to it. There are only two power-ups, so the only thing that changes over time is the addition of balls of different colors.
