Old MacDonald - by Duck Duck Moose
What's It About?
Kids can sing along to the classic Old MacDonald song. In addition to recording their own voice, kids can hear the song sung in different languages and played with different instruments. They might not actually learn to sing the song in French or play it on the violin, but the exposure to these different sounds is great. While many of the interactive elements are less relevant to the song and are more just-for-fun than what we usually see from Duck Duck Moose, kids will enjoy discovering what they can do on each page.
Is It Any Good?
OLD MACDONALD - BY DUCK DUCK MOOSE has more of the publisher's trademark humor -- the kind of sight gags that are very silly, yet feel somehow sophisticated at the same time (a pig paints a portrait, a cow reads "the Moo Yorker"). They'll definitely make kids laugh, and quite possibly adults, too. Even the classic song itself is turned on its head at times ("Old MacDonald had a bulldozer?"). Exploring each scene and finding out what he or she can make happen is half the fun for kids, though. And a cool feature allows kids to record themselves singing "Old MacDonald." Loads of fun all around.
