A lot or a little?

The parents' guide to what's in this app.

Ease of Play

The controls are super-easy to handle. As the speed and number of zombies gradually increase, though, the game gets more and more difficult.

The only weapon in this game is a soccer ball, but the player uses it to burst zombies into explosions of green goo. Kicking the ball at a zombie will cause it to lose limbs -- or even its head. Zombies eventually end up as gooey green messes. Bonus points are rewarded for "head shots" and "nut shots."

There is some mild language in the dialogue and narration, like "nut shot" and "douche bag."

What parents need to know

Parents need to know that Pro Zombie Soccer is 98 percent zombie game and only about 2 percent soccer game. The soccer premise is used in a humorous way, but the game is really about killing zombies. There is a lot of cartoony gore, but no red blood -- it's all green slime. The story, told in comic panel format, contains some mild language and some very dark humor.

Is it any good?

PRO ZOMBIE SOCCER hilariously pits a teenage soccer player against hordes of flesh-eating undead. Luckily for our hero, he's so good that he can knock a oncoming zombie's head off with a well placed kick of the ball. There's a well-told story in here, with some incredibly dark humor to it. And while the action can grow repetitive at times, everything occurs with such speed and ferocity that you don't really have time to grow bored with it. For teens who can handle the violence and gross-out factor, this game is lots of fun.
