Puffin Rock Music!
What's It About?
Sweet giggles and noises from nature -- such as dripping water or singing birds -- greet kids as they start playing PUFFIN ROCK MUSIC!. They can switch between the cave scene and the undergrowth meadow scene with a tap. In each scene, kids drop any of the five characters from Puffin Rock onto a stage-like platform -- a grassy hill in the meadow and three rocks in the cave -- to make a song. Characters make different sounds, and kids can change the song by rearranging the animals or adding percussion and then record a 10-second song and share it as an MP4.
Is It Any Good?
Nature scenes and cute animals make lovely, soothing music that won't push kids into sensory overload. The Puffin Rock Music! interface is totally toddler-friendly with easy drag-and-drop controls, and the characters move and dance when touched. The graphics are gorgeous, though it can take a bit long to load the app and save the songs, which may test your preschooler's attention span. The subdued sounds, reminiscent of nature, aren't as jarring as some kids' music-making apps, so sensitive kids may prefer this.
