What’s It About?

Spike the competition in VOLLEYBALL ARENA for mobile devices. You'll control the court and charge the net in 1v1 volleyball matches against opponents from around the globe. Every second counts as you race to outscore the competition in fast-paced, thirty second rounds. You'll need to be quick and to play smart as you jump, dive, and smash your way to victory. Rise up through the ranks, upgrading your player and customizing your looks with your tournament winnings. Need an extra edge? Make use of special power-ups during the game to alter the match in your favor in surprising ways, like temporarily raising the net height to block an opponent's shot. Just remember that they can use power-ups against you as well. Do you have what it takes to rule as King or Queen of the volleyball court?

Imagine for a second that you're at a puppet show, with stringed marionettes bouncing loosely around the stage. Now imagine those puppets trying to play volleyball, and you start to get a sense of what you're in store for with Volleyball Arena. The game's controls, while simple, are annoyingly sloppy. It's bad enough that your character can't seem to move beyond a jaunty skip forward and back on the court, but there's little in the way of accuracy when you actually hit the ball. In fact, the game seems to confuse volleyball for soccer, as you're just as likely to bounce the ball over the net off your head as much as with your hands. It makes most of the thirty second matches feel more like Pong, but with better graphics and less excitement.
