What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Wreck-It Ralph Storybook Deluxe is a dual-function app, offering both a storybook of the popular film as well as a racing game, where players can compete in the Sugar Rush race shown in the film and book. There's no real violence to speak of and the only thing for parents to watch out for is the commercial aspect of the app.

What’s It About?
Kids can flip through a storybook version of Wreck-It Ralph, getting a summarized version of the film's plot. Kids who explore the pages are rewarded with audio clips from the film, occasional short scenes, and other fun extras. The app also lets players design their own Sugar Rush race car and race it in a driving game, which has them steer their car using their phone or tablet's gyroscope. Running over pieces of candy offers racers power-ups.
Is It Any Good?
Blending a storybook app with a racing game is an unusual step, but since the story and the race are so intertwined in the Wreck-It Ralph movie, it's something that makes sense for Wreck-It Ralph Storybook Deluxe. Both elements work fine on their own, but could go further.
The gaming aspects are just so-so and feel a bit tacked on. Controls are basic, but a bit muddy, although the game is still fairly easy to win. The story is loaded with extras, though, which will keep kids entertained. The lack of highlighting words and a function letting parents record their own voice is noticeable, though.
