What's the Story?

Wanting to be big means going on a search in THE TEENY-WEENY UNICORN'S GREAT BIG WISH. This small unicorn has been trying to find ways to suddenly become bigger, but he's too small to throw a coin in a wishing well, has had no luck getting a ladybug to land on him, and hasn't seen a shooting star. When he wishes on a dandelion poof, a fairy princess tells him that he has to find something smaller than himself. He heads out into the world, but his search doesn't go the way he thought it would.

With gentle kindness, a wish, and a little luck, this lovely story connects with readers on an emotional level, reminding them that size doesn't matter when it comes to being important in the world. The Teeny-Weeny Unicorn's Great Big Wish is delightful to read, with Shawn Harris' soft-edged illustrations that bring warmth and personality to the page. The moment when the unicorn is corrected when speaking to the wrong side of the tree reflects those lost moments in life when we don't even know where to start asking for what we're looking for. No need to read the first book to enjoy this one, but they certainly make a fun pair to read together.
