What's It About?

LEGO FORTNITE brings together two hugely popular franchises—Lego and Fortnite—into a unique open-world survival adventure. In this game, players explore a vast kingdom made of three distinct areas, where they collect items, craft tools and weapons, build shelters, and battle enemies, all from a third-person perspective. The characters and world are entirely made of Lego-like bricks. Players can fight foes solo or with up to seven friends online, or enlist non-player character (NPC) villagers to help gather materials and survive. Creativity plays a key role, with players building custom home bases using gathered resources like wood or stone, much like play with real-life Lego. There are also plenty of customization options, from over a thousand outfits to emotes, some of which can be purchased with V-Bucks (real money). Lego Fortnite is available across multiple platforms, including PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, Windows PC, and Android, and with cloud gaming, allowing players to connect and play together across devices. To access Lego Fortnite, players simply navigate to the Discover screen inside Fortnite, making it easily accessible without needing a separate download.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say ( 1 ):

Lego Fortnite is a fun, free-to-start survival sandbox game that combines the creativity of Lego with the action of Fortnite. While it borrows heavily from Minecraft, fans of both franchises will appreciate the adventure. Players can create or join worlds, gather and craft resources, and build shelters to survive the night. The default Survival Mode challenges players to fend off enemies like spiders and skeletons, while Sandbox Mode allows for more relaxed, resource-free exploration and building. The game is best played with friends, as teamwork is encouraged for some tasks, although NPCs can assist. With features like fishing, driving, and crafting, Lego Fortnite continues to evolve, adding more to do since its launch.

One of the game's biggest draws is its 1,200+ Outfits, which feature playable Lego Styles, and the cross-game support with Fortnite. While the core gameplay was initially light on direction, Lego Fortnite has grown into an engaging and creative experience for tweens and teens. Parents will be pleased to know that money isn't required to enjoy the game, but V-Bucks can be used to buy cosmetic upgrades like outfits and emotes. Overall, this brick-building adventure offers a safe, tween-friendly gaming experience with plenty of opportunities for creativity and fun.
