Black Lives Matter Movies and TV Shows on Netflix

Last updated: June 11, 2025

As racial injustice has come to the forefront of the cultural conversation, many families are seeking out movies, TV shows, and other media that share and celebrate Black voices, Black storytellers, and Black history. Netflix has made it easier than ever to find and watch these programs by creating a Black Lives Matter curation destination. While these are all important stories to hear, some of these movies and series have graphic imagery that might not be appropriate for younger viewers. Others cover complex ideas and tough topics, so even if your kid can handle the content, we encourage families to watch and discuss together. For even more powerful stories, try these Great African American Movies and Books About Racism and Social Justice.
