Dr. Ibram X. Kendi's Picks: Anti-Racist Books for Kids

Award-winning and bestselling author Dr. Ibram X. Kendi is one of the most renowned anti-racist voices of our time. He's the founding director of the Antiracist Research & Policy Center at American University, a Guggenheim Fellow, a Frances B. Cashin Fellow at Harvard University, and a loving father. He's known for his thoughtful books, including W.E.B. Du Bois Book Prize winner The Black Campus Movement, and How to Be an Antiracist. He also became the youngest author to win the National Book Award for Nonfiction with his book Stamped from the Beginning: The Definitive History of Racist Ideas in America. In addition to his writing for adults, he's written the middle grade bestseller Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You with Jason Reynolds, and the children's picture book and board book Antiracist Baby.

In recommending the following books, Ibram says, "This reading list is for all people -- but especially for young people -- who want to do the necessary work of chipping away at racism and all of its manifestations."
