What's the Story?

After spending many happy years fighting crime in Metroburg, the Thundermans are foiled by a new superteam, the V-Team. In THE THUNDERMANS RETURN, they're no longer the best superheroes in town, and they're sent back to Hiddenville by President Kickbutt, and try to resume their old lives as regular people. In the meantime, imprisoned villains Dark Mayhem, King Crab, and Strongdor (plus their evil progeny) are making an evil plan. Will they end up besting the Thundermans once and for all? Or will the family rise up and work together to make the comeback they've been dreaming of?

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say ( 4 ):
Kids say ( 5 ):

Like the show before it, this movie is campy, goofy, and over the top. The Thundermans Return's jokes don't always hit, despite a relentless laugh track, and the plot is more like a series of nostalgic vignettes than a coherent movie. There are a few funny moments, like V-Team, who also happen to be a rock band with a hit single, or when a group of aging supervillains concocts an evil plan using landlines. A little more creativity (President Kickbutt? Really?) would go a long way as the characters are generally likable and the vibe is fun. Fans who miss this wisecracking family may want to check it out, but it won't garner any new Thunderman devotees.
