Self centered

I think abby lee is very self centered and arrogant. She is all about showing that she has the ability to do anything and that the credit goes to her without giving any real credit to the kids some of which are really really talented

Terrible Show, poor kids

Failed Parents push their kids to dance . The parents are very passionate about their dancing kids and push them towards perfection, while the kids seem to be unhappy and seem to do it because they get forced. I cant watch it and think this show should be taken off the tv. TERRIBLE

Pretty Good

It’s a pretty good show. However, a person on the show called “ black patsy” is one of the most nastiest despicable people. It’s one thing to be outspoken and even get into with the other moms, but this woman thinks nothing of talking about and even posting on social media about children. That’s about as low as it gets. She will in one breathe speak about how she has to fight for her rights as a woman, a black person, etc, so she of all people should know better than to bully a child!

Sexual and emotional abuse for entertainment

https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/wjee3m/the-dance-moms-stars-and-thei… This article explains why I as a dance teacher hate this show with a passion. Exploiting children with emotional abuse and sexualizing them in front of the world? One of the jobs of a teacher is to protect our students, not to put them out in front of cameras in sexualized costumes doing sexual dances and breaking these kids down until they hate dance.

How is this allowed??

It's glorifying verbal abuse of kids. It's so sad that reality TV has come to this. Grown women, who should be setting examples, are yelling, swearing, fighting with each other... right in front of the kids. And they let that horrible Abby Lee creature berate and humiliate their kids. Too bad that networks like Lifetime feel they have to have these types of shows to keep competitive ratings. I thought they were all about positive role models and female empowerment...?? And NO, Abby Lee is neither a positive role model nor is she at all what female empowerment is all about. Quite the opposite. She is disgusting and got fame and fortune for disgusting behavior . The students suffer because their parents don't protect them - they just want to be on TV- and the network keeps pushing it and uses their incredible power to glorify horrible behavior to the world. Isn't there a law that protects kids from having to go on these messed up reality shows???????????

Entertaining, not for young children.

Dance Moms is definitely entertaining but I don't think it's appropriate for any child to watch this. Abby Lee Miller is rude and self-centered in this series, if it doesn't benefit her - she doesn't care. The girls are all super talented, and I love the show because the dances are great. Also, the costumes are sometimes wildly inappropriate, ex. Broadway Blondes. The children put up with so much and are constantly berated/humiliated.

The girls are lovely and amazing dancers, the moms and Abby are wildly inappropriate

I love watching the girls dance but the bullying from Abby is insane. As a coach myself I would never talk to a child this way. I’m sure these kids suffer from trauma as young adults due to being name called and yelled at at this extreme from an adult. I am all for “tough love” but there is a line and she rolled right over it. I had to fast forward when my 10 year old was in the room due to the cursing and talk of “sleeping with people” from the moms. I’m shocked some reviewers say this show has a great message! I guess if you are all for bullying children. I’m surprised it’s not considered highly offensive to belittle kids

Really good show !!

Dance moms is really good. There is swearing and drama but nothing bad. As long as kids know not to swear then it’s okay for 10 and up and maybe younger. If you like dance then you’ll like this

Not that bad.

Despite what other people are saying, this show isn't bad compared to majority of reality TV nowadays. While the dances can be too suggestive at times and Abby is quite rude to the girls, it's all in the show. This is reality tv for God's sake not Nick Jr. majority of it is staged fights with awful rich middle aged women. Majority of kids over the age of 8 would be able to handle this and get a good laugh out of it.
