What's the Story?
ELMO'S MINDFULNESS SPECTACULAR allows viewers to visit Sesame Street during a talent show, hosted by Juanpa Zurita. Elmo gets nervous before his performance, his belly is tight and he feels hot and cold all over. He asks his friend Abby Cadabby to use her magic to fix his big feelings, but when her magic wand breaks. Elmo and his friends must go a mission to find the missing pieces. The wand's magic seems to transport Elmo to different places on Sesame Street where he encounters special friends, including actress Jenny Slate and YouTube stars Marques Brownlee, Caleb Marshall, and Lauren Riihimaki. Elmo's new friends teach him different mindfulness activities. He masters birthday cake breathing, learns the game hear & seek, and makes a beautiful glitter jar -- with singing and dancing in between. Along the way, Elmo and his friends gather pieces of Abby's magic wand. Will Elmo still believe he needs magic to perform in the talent show, or can he do it on his own?
Is It Any Good?
Kids will learn, laugh, and dance while watching this great Sesame Street special. Elmo's Mindfulness Spectacular introduces new, live-action friends to the puppet characters, who teach important mindfulness activities. The activities vary, and cater to different learning styles and ages. The cast is diverse, and offer their unique perspectives on how to handle big feelings. The show's messages are empowering and empathetic for young viewers.
