What's the Story?

In LEGO STAR WARS: REBUILD THE GALAXY - PIECES OF THE PAST, Sig Greebling (Gaten Matarazzo) tries to rescue his brother Darth Dev (Tony Revolori) from the dark side while the fate of the galaxy hangs in the balance. Sig is training to be a Force Builder on planet Alistan Nor under the guidance of Jedi Bob (Bobby Moynihan) when he starts dreaming that brother Dev is in trouble on planet Dathomir. Meanwhile, Sig's friend Yesi (Marsai Martin) is frustrated that her rebel talents are wasted on her boring supply run missions. Suddenly, a Mandalorian appears and kidnaps the gang. They learn that Solitus, Jedi Bob's former master, has gone over to the dark side and hatched a plan to destroy the entire galaxy. Sig, Jedi Bob and Yesi must work together with Dev and other unlikely allies to thwart Solitus and restore the galaxy.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:

Mega Star Wars fans and kids who enjoyed the first installment of Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy will love seeing this alternate universe continue. It's very fun to see characters from throughout Star Wars lore interact with each other. The series has the same irreverent humor of The Lego Movie and its many spinoffs. Lego-built starships are super cool (though grown-ups asked to purchase the real-life Lego sets might think they're less cool.) Did there need to be more Lego Star Wars content? Probably not. Will kid Star Wars fans enjoy it, nonetheless? Absolutely.

Talk to Your Kids About ...

  • Families can talk about Sig's loyalty to his brother, and his belief that he could rescue him from the dark side. What do you think the story is saying about people's ability to fix their mistakes?

  • Why do you think the TV producers wanted to make a Lego version of Star Wars?
