What's the Story?

Writing the town OBITUARY is perfect for Elvira Clancy (Siobhán Cullen.) Obsessed with death at a young age, she finally gets to turn her passion into a job when Kilraven's obituarist dies. But being paid an abysmal price per story, Elvira is desperate to support herself and her father struggling with alcoholism (Michael Smiley). Desperate and enraged, Elvira kills a notably sick man in town, awakening something inside of her. With a plan to get these obituaries out by any means necessary, Elvira takes matters -- and lives -- into her own hands.

Is It Any Good?

This series takes a morbidly humorous spin on mourning. Obituary is creative, dark, and comedic, with good character dynamics. Cullen portrays the morbid curiosity and instability of Elvira very well. The language, sexual conversations, and violence make this more suitable for older teens.
