Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin is a series that continues the adventures of the Pitch Perfect crew. It has drug references, suggestive language, and some sexual references (without nudity). Expect lots of product references and a heavy borrowing from pop music numbers. The action happens in Berlin, Germany, where there's language ("bitch," "s--t," "hell") in both English and German. Character traits of empathy and communication are highlighted.
Is It Any Good?
Goofy and upbeat, this spin-off of the Pitch Perfect movies makes for fun, fluffy entertainment. Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin benefits from the backdrop of an international city -- especially one as cynical as Berlin. Bumper's the goofball American comedic foil to the jaded Berliners, which allows the (otherwise mediocre) jokes to land rather well.
Fans of the Pitch Perfect series will surely enjoy this silly romp. There are too many drug references and sexual innuendos for tweens, but teens and parents can get into the groove for a weekend of binging this show together.
