The parents' guide to what's in this TV show.
What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Starstruck is a romantic comedy series about a woman from New Zealand (Rose Matafeo) who starts dating one of London's biggest celebrities. It's a simple premise that revolves around the central character's dating and sex life. The series includes sexual content throughout, including simulated sex, characters appearing in their underwear, and many discussions and jokes about sex. Alcohol is also a major part of the series, as the characters visit clubs and pubs, and often appear and talk about being drunk.

What's the Story?
Starstruck begins when Jessie (Rose Matafeo) meets Tom (Nikesh Patel) in the men's bathroom at a club. The two take a liking to one another and spend the night together; the next morning, Jessie discovers that Tom is a major celebrity (whose agent is played by Minnie Driver). Then Jessie must figure out how to juggle her budding relationship with Tom as well as the rest of her chaotic dating life.
Is It Any Good?
Rose Malafeo has an easy charm and wit that makes her fun to root for; beyond that, there's not a lot to this romcom, which just follows Malafeo's Jessie through the ups and downs of her dating life. The main Starstruck thread sees Jessie and her celebrity paramour Tom (Nikesh Patel) fall together and apart and together and apart as they get to know each other. It's easy to watch, but other than Malafeo Starstruck doesn't really have any standout aspects to it, which makes watching it less of a heavy love affair and more of a pleasant way to pass the time.
