Beware Tarot cards in this show

My kids (aged 5 and 2) were watching this show regularly and I had watched a few episodes and found it inoffensive. No great plot lines or moral lessons but nothing objectionable. My son recently showed me how to “read my future” using cards and when I asked him where he learnt that, he said it was from “Mickey Mouse Funhouse”. As a Christian family, we are trying to raise our kids right and we object to Tarot cards/witchcraft etc. so I found it disturbing that this content is included on a children’s show. I will not be letting my kids watch this show anymore.

What's the Story?

In MICKEY MOUSE FUNHOUSE, Mickey Mouse's friends follow Mickey to a place he knows about in the forest. It's a house that's able to change into anything from a ship, to a Western town, to a castle. When the friends go inside, they get to choose a room that will lead them on an adventure. Once they go into that room, they're magically transported through a portal to the adventure they've chosen. Often they have to solve a problem once they're there, but the Funhouse is always there to help them get back.

This colorful, fast-paced adventure will be very enticing for preschoolers -- There are houses with slides, roller coaster rides, cars that float, and lots of Disney friends to play with in the Mickey Mouse Funhouse world.

But there's more to it than that; there are some moral lessons that seep through, like, don't judge people -- find out more about them. Work together as a team. The female characters get to have a say in what they wear and what role they'll take (they might be a princess or a knight, for example), and girls help direct how the adventures unfold, but the majority of characters are male. Disney fans are going to enjoy this addition to the Mickey Mouse offerings.
